Hello,

I've successfully installed grub on a Pentium 350 MHz with a 3Gb hard
disk. Wonderful....

But the same commands does'nt work on a Pentium 450 MHz with a 15Gb hard
disk. I obtain "Geom Error" or "Selected cylinder exceeds maximumu
supported by BIOS" depending on LBA or non-LBA mode.

What I've done:
dowloaded ftp://alpha.gnu.org/gnu/grub/grub-boot-0.5.93.1.tar.gz
dd if=stage1 of=/dev/fd0 bs=512 count=1
dd if=stage2 of=/dev/fd0 bs=512 seek=1

reboot my computer with floppy disk
tested successfully boot on Windows 2000 (2 GB first partition) and
linux/Suse 6.2 (2GB next partition).

Want to put it on hdd:
install = (fd0)+1 (hd0) (hd0,2)/boot/grub/stage2 0x8000 p
(hd0,2)/boot/grub/menu.lst

Reboot and obtain "Geom Error" instead of menu.

Here are specifications of my disk (from BIOS - LBA/non-LBA):

MODE SIZE CYLS HEAD PRECOMP LANDZ SECTOR

LBA 15374 1869 255 0 29794 63

NORMAL 15378 29795 16 65535 29794 63

LARGE 15376 3724 128 65535 29794 63

I've tried several choices, without success. Including putting
configuration files on Windows 2000 partition, but install command
cannot mount partition....
What can I try more? Is there another release that I can try?

Thanks a lot,

rv.
