Please consider adding the ability to copy files inside grub scripts (I understand that would require read-write access to multiple file system types :( ). Maybe originally only one file system type could be supported to decrease development effort. The benefit provided would be the ability to keep multiple configurations of same OS (e.g. WinX) by backing up the relevant files, and than a script would be able to copy backed up files into their original locations. Added read-write functionality also would allow to save the state of grub, e.g. to save last loaded entry vs. always using a fixed entry specified in the config file.
