I'm affraid that GRUB in fact uses floppy emulation provided by BIOS.
I don't think GRUB can boot from CD if boot from CD is disabled in BIOS or
if BIOS doesn't support it.

I'd prefer to be wrong though. In this case, patches will be welcome :-)
