I am just coming into the conversation here, but I wanted to ask
about a change in the behavior of GRUB between 0.5.93.1 and
0.5.95 (on a Debian Linux system).

I have a 13gig drive (hd2) which I have always setup in BIOS
without lba. I was just careful to keep a boot partition within
the first 1024 cylinders. When I installed GRUB 0.5.93.1 this
worked fine and I could boot the drive.

When I upgraded 0.5.95 (compiled from source) I got an error when
I tried to use the "root" command on this drive:
Error: Selected cylinder exceeds maximum supported by BIOS.
It went away I reset my BIOS for lba addressing on the drive. So
my question is, did a bug work itself into the non-lba code?

And a last compliment. Whoever had the idea for the "setkey"
command was brilliant. I have been using the Dvorak keyboard for
years and I can finally have a Dvorak boot-loader!
