Hello from Gregg C Levine usually with Jedi Knight Computers
I have just completed installing Red Hat 5.2 on a Pentium 100, yes I know
this is an old version but it is an older computer, and it can't handle the
peculiar nature of the later versions of Red Hat. Well, I want to use GRUB
as its bootloader. This end, I have built GRUB ver 0.5.95, using the dated
version on the ftp site. Extracted the files using the extract procedures
reccommended for compressed TAR files. And then built the whole business
using the time honored procedures for building software written using GNU
supplied tools. Now when I run grub-install I get a "Format of device not
recognized" error. Now what? Please advise.
