  Your understanding is correct, but whether your work (as well as my
work) is meaningless depends on your standard of value. I myself don't
think I'm wasting time, because:

1. We need a good boot loader soon. Most of us cannot wait until
Gordon finishes his magnificent plan.
2. We can learn many things through the development. Without actual
work, we will not be able to plan any good design.
3. I don't think *all* code (and documents) will be discarded.
4. I doubt if 1.0 will be released before PC is obsolete. If PC
disappears, the current source code would be useless, anyway.
