Hello everybody,

I've just tried to compile and install grub on a SuSE-7.0-system without
any problems. Now, I've tried to do the same on a small
Debian-potato system. Configuring and compiling are doing
a good job, but the install-run will only install the
binaries and the man pages, but not the info-files correctly. It seems
to be a part in the docs/Makefile.in, specifically the lines checking
whether an info-install with a Debian signature is available.
This check yields the condition not to use the info-install. But why?
At what about this POSTINST? Is it going to proceede a special Debian
behaviour?

I've searched the web for additional infos, but no matches. So, please
give me a short advice what to do for a correct installation of the
info-files.

ciao, Georg
