First, please make sure that the genuine Etherboot driver works with
your chipset well. I think it would be possible that the current
version of Etherboot might not work with some cards. In this case, you
need to patch Etherboot rather than GRUB, because the drivers are
derived from Etherboot.

You are right. The point is how to "mimic" the timer in GRUB.
