System : - P120 - Single H.D. - First partition = Win95 - Second partition = Linux
When the PC starts, the first Grub menu is configured with two entries : Win95 and Linux. When I choose Linux, Linux boots normally. When I choose Win95, the screen goes blank, the usual info comes up : ------------------------------- Booting 'Win95' rootnoverify (hd0,0) chainloader +1 GRUB Loading stage2........... ------------------------------- It then loops back to that second Grub screen. I figured I installed Grub on the MBR _and_ on the boot sector of the first partition. So each time I choose Win95 on the first Grub screen, it brings me to the second Grub screen, then I choose Win95 and it comes back to this screen, looping, instead of booting Win95. Do you know of any way to restore booting Win95 normally because I lost access to this OS. ********************* As I wrote this email, I found the solution : - Boot with the Win95 Emergency disquette - enter the command : sys c: - Reboot - The second menu will be gone and I can boot Win95 again! So I tought that you would be interested in my findings, this is why I send these informations anyway... ********************* My other question is, I used grub versions .90 and .93 and I saw a difference between these versions: Version .90 uses the "splashimage" to display a background image but version .93 seems not to recognize this command. Is this a bug or a "feature" of the newer version? It would be real nice to get back this functionality in the final version! Thanks for your answer.
