There are a number of alternative ways, but the easiest is to use the El Torito support now built into GRUB; for that you'll need the latest CVS version---instructions on obtaining it are available atHow can I boot a bootable CD with GRUB?

If you build and install that version, `info grub' contains straightforward instructions on making a bootable CD with grub.
I was able to find another method, which works on older versions of GRUB (that you may already have installed) by searching for 'grub bootable cd' on Google. (That may be a more appropriate forum for answering "how to"-type questions---this list tends to be for bugs and development.):
