Dear Colleages, I am using Fedora Core 2 with GRUB Loader and I am facing a problem with it. Every now and then when I turn on my machine, expecting to see GRUB menu, I get endless printing of "GRUB" on the screem like this
GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB ..... The problem does not appears always, there are times when I use it normally. Up to now I fix this using a Linux rescue disk so that I can boot somehow and then I reinstall grub with the command: grub-install /dev/hda My machine has Fedora Core 2 and Windows 2000 on it (which I haven't used for sevral months). The contents of /boot/grub/grub.conf is # grub.conf generated by anaconda # # Note that you do not have to rerun grub after making changes to this file # NOTICE: You do not have a /boot partition. This means that # all kernel and initrd paths are relative to /, eg. # root (hd0,0) # kernel /boot/vmlinuz-version ro root=/dev/hda1 # initrd /boot/initrd-version.img #boot=/dev/hda default=0 timeout=10 splashimage=(hd0,0)/boot/grub/splash.xpm.gz title Fedora Core (2.6.5-1.358) root (hd0,0) kernel /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.5-1.358 ro root=LABEL=/ rhgb quiet initrd /boot/initrd-2.6.5-1.358.img title Windows2000 root (hd0,1) makeactive chainloader +1 and just for information my partitions as shown by fdisk are: Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System /dev/hda1 1 1275 10241406 83 Linux /dev/hda2 * 1407 3319 15366172+ 7 HPFS/NTFS /dev/hda3 1276 1406 1052257+ 82 Linux swap /dev/hda4 3320 4865 12418245 f W95 Ext'd (LBA) /dev/hda5 3320 4865 12418213+ 83 Linux Thank you very much in advance Ivan Ivanov __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
