After you virtually exchanged the BIOS drives, grub itself also thinks the drives are exchanged. In the above example this would meen: Windows physically is installed on the primary partition of the _SECOND_ harddisc. But AFTER virtually exchanging the drives you adress the WinXP Partition as (hd0,0).
