The worst case is the original one, because I cannot select the OS at boot.
Me stupid; I could have simply done it. I did it:
# This should show a splash-screen #splashimage=(hd0,0)/grub/splash.xpm.gz
But it doesn't change the behaviour: no (visible) menu, everything messed up.
What now ?
