Hello, This isn't a GRUB bug, but rather an addition to the list of buggy BIOS versions in http://www.gnu.org/software/grub/manual/grub.html#install - you may want to consider updating that list.
Installing GRUB manually with "install /boot/grub/stage1 d (hd0) /boot/grub/stage2 p" fixes the problem. The computers in question are both "Fujitsu ErgoPro x" systems, BIOS version (at least for one of them, the other is slightly newer) 1.33 Robert _______________________________________________ Bug-grub mailing list Bug-grub@gnu.org http://lists.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/bug-grub
