Follow-up Comment #1, bug #13079 (project grub): I ran into the same problem today when moving around my root filesystem to another partition. I ended up with a partition table containing hda1 windows hda5 data hda3 swap hda2 linux
Setting up grub in the MBR gave me no problems, but when I rebooted it stopped after the messages "Loading Stage 1.5" and "Grub loading, please wait". deleting the extended partition, creating a new primary directly after hda1 and moving my linux root filesystem there the trouble went away. It has been pointed out to me that having primary partitions located after an extended one might not be a valid partition scheme. I don't know about that, but some kind of test and warning would be nice if that is really the fact. _______________________________________________________ Reply to this item at: <http://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/?func=detailitem&item_id=13079> _______________________________________________ Message sent via/by Savannah http://savannah.gnu.org/ _______________________________________________ Bug-grub mailing list Bug-grub@gnu.org http://lists.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/bug-grub
