I have grub 0.97 installed by way of gentoo's sys-boot/grub-0.97-r3.ebuild.
My / is jfs; /boot is not a separate filesystem. Grub refuses to boot any kernels whose bzImage is larger than approx 2.5 Megs. (2504 K boots, 2552 K does not; I've yet to determine the exact threshold.) I get error 2 (ERR_BAD_FILETYPE). I can't tell from the src exactly what the problem is, but someone on lkml has confirmed that lilo can boot larger bzImages than that, so I have to presume it is a grub bug.... Any ideas? -JimC -- James Cloos <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> OpenPGP: 0xED7DAEA6 _______________________________________________ Bug-grub mailing list [email protected] http://lists.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/bug-grub
