Hi
I have received a couple of bug reports for ISO Master saying that the
ISOs it writes aren't bootable. After looking at it for a while I've
decided the thing that's most likely at fault has something to do with
GRUB. The CDs are FC-6-i386-livecd-1.iso and NimbleX-2007.iso
Both start to boot but hang. Fedora prints this:
---
Loading stage2 ....
_
---
And NimbleX prints this:
---
Loading stage1.5 .
GRUB loading, please wait...
_
---
Both hang there unresponsive, cursor doesn't blink, the keyboard doesn't
seem to work at all.
I compared the original ISOs with the edited ones. They are exactly the
same except for the location of the boot file in the boot info table
(that's in the stage2_eltorito file) which needs to be changed so that
the BIOS will find it.
Please help me find the problem. I have no idea what version GRUB is on
either of those but both distros are available online you can take a look:
http://download.fedora.redhat.com/pub/fedora/projects/live/
http://www.nimblex.net/
If you care to see the problem for yourself, please download this
version of iso master:
http://littlesvr.ca/isomaster/releases/isomaster-0.8-rc1.tar.bz2
But I'll post any file from there on the web if it may help figure out
what's wrong.
Thanks in advance, I appreciate your time.
