A Dell Service partition is a standard FAT 16 formatted partition with type
0xDE.
So it is possible to put the Grub configuration there. But Grub 0.97 reports
an
error 17 and refuses to boot if the partition type is 0xDE. Changing it to
either
0x6 or 0x16 (visible or hidden FAT 16) works.
