Summary: Grub freezes if one tries to select a different os than the default on a macbook Project: GNU GRUB Submitted by: jdshewey Submitted on: Fri 12 Sep 2008 12:58:43 PM GMT Category: Booting Severity: Major Priority: 5 - Normal Item Group: Software Error Status: None Privacy: Public Assigned to: None Originator Name: James Shewey Originator Email: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Open/Closed: Open Discussion Lock: Any Release: 1.96 Reproducibility: Every Time Planned Release: _______________________________________________________ Details: I am using a macbook pro with the mbr blessed to be the default boot. This boots grub legacy which then loads grub2. After grub 2 is finally loaded, the timeout feature works to boot, but if I try to select a different option besides the default, the menu (and system) will freeze. This is true no matter which line I set as default. This version of the software was installed out of the ubuntu repositories (Kubuntu 8.04, Hardy, the KDE 4.0 version) This is on a penryn based macbook. Please let me know if there is a way to produce debugging output of if there is any other information I can provide. Also willing to do any other macbook testing that might be helpful to the project. _______________________________________________________ Reply to this item at: <http://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/?24250> _______________________________________________ Message sent via/by Savannah http://savannah.gnu.org/ _______________________________________________ Bug-grub mailing list Bug-grub@gnu.org http://lists.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/bug-grub
