Your new install probably uses extents (ext4). It's not supported by grub-legacy and we don't recieve feature requests for it anymore. Use grub2
-- Regards Vladimir 'phcoder' Serbinenko This is not a feature request. I selected ext3 at install on hda6 and gparted shows it to be ext3. At my boot screen I press "c" for the grub prompt and the find command does not show results from other partitions hda6 and hda7 that a grub command from a terminal when I am in ubuntu (hda3). Should I trash the grub I am using and replace it with another boot loader? Maybe grub2? gmcgmc _______________________________________________ Bug-grub mailing list Bug-grub@gnu.org http://lists.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/bug-grub -- View this message in context: http://www.nabble.com/grub-wont-find-files-on-new-partition-with-linux-install-tp24007853p24028864.html Sent from the Grub - Bugs mailing list archive at Nabble.com. _______________________________________________ Bug-grub mailing list Bug-grub@gnu.org http://lists.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/bug-grub
