Summary: Missing item from grub.cfg file in grub menu. Project: GNU GRUB Submitted by: voice Submitted on: Mon 16 Nov 2009 10:37:50 AM GMT Category: Configuration Severity: Major Priority: 5 - Normal Item Group: Software Error Status: None Privacy: Public Assigned to: None Originator Name: Originator Email: Open/Closed: Open Discussion Lock: Any Release: Release: 1.97 Reproducibility: Every Time Planned Release: None _______________________________________________________ Details: Hello. I think I found a bug in the software. Here is description. OS: Debian GNU/Linux (testing brunch) package version: grub 0.97-59 i386 I add my rule to /etc/grub.d/40_custom, and if I don't put empty line (with empty line all works perfect) in this file I have next line in /boot/grub/grub.cfg file (generated by grub-mkconfig): --- }### END /etc/grub.d/40_custom ### --- So, as you can see we have comment not in the new line, but in the last line of 40_custom file. With this situation this menu item is missing (don't show at all) during boot. And when I move comment to new line it shows as it must. So, I think problem in grub.cfg parser code. Also you can find my configuration files in attachments. I hope I describe the situation as clear that you can understand. Best regards, Viacheslav. _______________________________________________________ File Attachments: ------------------------------------------------------- Date: Mon 16 Nov 2009 10:37:50 AM GMT Name: grub.cfg Size: 3kB By: voice <http://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/download.php?file_id=19067> ------------------------------------------------------- Date: Mon 16 Nov 2009 10:37:50 AM GMT Name: 40_custom Size: 370B By: voice <http://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/download.php?file_id=19066> _______________________________________________________ Reply to this item at: <http://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/?28028> _______________________________________________ Message sent via/by Savannah http://savannah.gnu.org/ _______________________________________________ Bug-grub mailing list Bug-grub@gnu.org http://lists.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/bug-grub
