Details:

I installed Ubuntu 9.10 (Grub2) and put the bootloader in the root intending
to chainload from my Mandriva legacy grub (which supports ext4).
This fails with:
"error 13 invalid or unsupported executable format"
Surely legacy grub should be able to chainload into any operating system boot
sector - even Windows, so why not grub2?

menu.lst entry :-

title Ubuntu 9.10
root (hd0,13)
chainloader +1

Result:-

"error 13 invalid or unsupported executable format"
