Summary: gfxmenu: Layout bug: partial box model implementation does not permit item margin/padding to differ from background Project: GNU GRUB Submitted by: directhex Submitted on: Wed 05 May 2010 03:45:26 PM GMT Category: User Interface Severity: Major Priority: 5 - Normal Item Group: None Status: None Privacy: Public Assigned to: None Originator Name: Originator Email: Open/Closed: Open Discussion Lock: Any Release: Release: 1.98 Reproducibility: None Planned Release: None _______________________________________________________ Details: gfxmenu implements a partial box model like the CSS box model, at least in name, with settings for padding and spacing. However, it is not possible to differentiate between padding which applies to an item, and to the decorations on that item. For example, when using boot_menu, you cannot set a padding on the menu entries independently of the menu entry background. This is pretty annoying when one wants to highlight an entire row - you cannot use padding, otherwise your highlight has all the padding around it you'd rather applied only to the item. _______________________________________________________ Reply to this item at: <http://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/?29793> _______________________________________________ Message sent via/by Savannah http://savannah.gnu.org/ _______________________________________________ Bug-grub mailing list Bug-grub@gnu.org http://lists.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/bug-grub
