Summary: Separate program name transformation for grub boot dir Project: GNU GRUB Submitted by: skodabenz Submitted on: Tue 06 Jul 2010 02:10:31 PM GMT Category: None Severity: Major Priority: 5 - Normal Item Group: None Status: None Privacy: Public Assigned to: None Originator Name: Originator Email: Open/Closed: Open Discussion Lock: Any Release: Release: Bazaar - trunk Reproducibility: None Planned Release: None _______________________________________________________ Details: Currently --program-transform-name configure option renames both the grub2 utilities as well as grub boot dir. I want to install grub2 bios and grub2 uefi in the same system and I want the utilities to be like grub2_bios-install and grub2_efi-install but grub boot dir to be /boot/grub2 for bios and <EFI_SYS_PART>/efi/grub2 for uefi. Although the grub2 uefi boot dir is portable, it is not so for grub2 bios (as the path is hard-coded in core.img) With the present --program-transform-name, I get either grub2_bios-install and /boot/grub2_bios/ (or) grub2-install and /boot/grub2/. How about a separate (and similar) option for grub boot dir alone? Not sure if this info is needed, but I use GPT (not Hybrid MBR) with 1MB BIOS Boot Partition. My system support both legacy bios boot mode and uefi x86_64 boot mode. I boot Win 7 x64 Pro using UEFI-GPT mode. _______________________________________________________ Reply to this item at: <http://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/?30369> _______________________________________________ Message sent via/by Savannah http://savannah.gnu.org/ _______________________________________________ Bug-grub mailing list Bug-grub@gnu.org http://lists.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/bug-grub
