hi!

there is a long-lasting bug from GRUB, since early versions of 1.x
(since that one comes on Ubuntu 7.04 or 6.10, and very probably on the
earlier versions as well), which rarely the macbook 2,1 keyboard works
when selecting the os entry from the list - it's also happening on GNU
GRUB version 1.99~rc1-3ubuntu2

now on this version, as far as GRUB rarely recognizes the keyboard
(far less than 10%), it also hangs on the timeout, making me forcing
the shutdown (i can't do reset with alt+sysrq+b or ctrl+alt+del ), and
taking the risc of hardware damage (like hard-disk, a very fragile
hardware for these situations, as known)

how can i fix, bypass, diagnose, or log this situation, and contribute
to the GRUB development?

thanks and cheers
Paulo
