Summary: Console device boot parameter for kopenbsd command (patch included) Project: GNU GRUB Submitted by: alm8c8 Submitted on: Fri 13 May 2011 03:53:57 PM GMT Category: Booting Severity: Major Priority: 5 - Normal Item Group: Feature Request Status: None Privacy: Public Assigned to: None Originator Name: Adam Maag Originator Email: adamm...@gmail.com Open/Closed: Open Discussion Lock: Any Release: Release: 1.98 Reproducibility: Every Time Planned Release: None _______________________________________________________ Details: For a project I am working on, I needed to be able to boot OpenBSD from a FAT partition (not supported by OpenBSD bootloader) and pass in a boot parameter to specify a serial port as the console device. This is not implemented for version 1.98 of GRUB, so I implemented it myself. This is a very useful feature that I would like to suggest be included in future revisions. Attached is a patch that implements a new boot parameter (--tty=comX) for the kopenbsd command. It has worked in all of my tests. Feel free to contact me with further questions. _______________________________________________________ File Attachments: ------------------------------------------------------- Date: Fri 13 May 2011 03:53:57 PM GMT Name: grub-1.98-obsd-tty.patch Size: 3kB By: alm8c8 <http://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/download.php?file_id=23399> _______________________________________________________ Reply to this item at: <http://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/?33307> _______________________________________________ Message sent via/by Savannah http://savannah.gnu.org/ _______________________________________________ Bug-grub mailing list Bug-grub@gnu.org https://lists.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/bug-grub
