It appears that this syntax was accepted in 1.98,
menuentry "Gnu/Linux"
{
}
but in 1.99 it needs to be converted to
menuentry "Gnu/Linux" {
}
just wondering if this breaking compatibility with 1.98
is intentional, or accidental.
it is a minor thing, since fixing it took less time
than reporting it :-)
