Summary: please provide mdraid names again Project: GNU GRUB Submitted by: holbe Submitted on: Tue May 31 13:12:01 2011 Category: Configuration Severity: Major Priority: 5 - Normal Item Group: Feature Request Status: None Privacy: Public Assigned to: None Originator Name: Originator Email: Open/Closed: Open Discussion Lock: Any Release: Release: Bazaar - trunk Reproducibility: None Planned Release: None _______________________________________________________ Details: Hello, with 1.99~rc2 grub changed the identification of RAID arrays from names away to UUIDs. It would be great to have an (optional) opportunity to use names instead again. Names (especially mdraid ones) have a bigger chance to remain stable when RAIDs are re-created, etc. At other places grub offers an opportunity to get rid of UUIDs, like with GRUB_DISABLE_LINUX_UUID in the linux grub.d shell-script snippets. Thanks for your work & regards Mario _______________________________________________________ Reply to this item at: <http://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/?33444> _______________________________________________ Message sent via/by Savannah http://savannah.gnu.org/ _______________________________________________ Bug-grub mailing list Bug-grub@gnu.org https://lists.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/bug-grub
