Follow-up Comment #5, bug #36770 (project grub): > Compressing files in memdisk isn't platform-dependent. You haven't indicated anything about any actions to include xzio/gzio in preloaded modules or avoiding compressing them and explicitly loading when compressing individual files.
I tried compressing all modules except gzio with gzip, and adding them to memdisk, or adding gzio outside of memdisk. Some modules would load fine (e.g., "normal"), others wouldn't (e.g., "gfxterm"), with error message indicated above. > -C is supported only for i386-pc and mips-* as there is little real reason for compression on other platforms. Decreasing ISO image size is one good reason, I think. _______________________________________________________ Reply to this item at: <http://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/?36770> _______________________________________________ Message sent via/by Savannah http://savannah.gnu.org/ _______________________________________________ Bug-grub mailing list Bug-grub@gnu.org https://lists.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/bug-grub
