Summary: Feature Request: Ability to disable submenus in configuration Project: GNU GRUB Submitted by: ksmanis Submitted on: Sun 15 Jul 2012 12:15:13 PM GMT Category: Configuration Severity: Major Priority: 5 - Normal Item Group: Feature Request Status: None Privacy: Public Assigned to: None Originator Name: Originator Email: Open/Closed: Open Discussion Lock: Any Release: Release: Bazaar - trunk Reproducibility: Every Time Planned Release: None _______________________________________________________ Details: I think it would be sane to include a configuration variable like GRUB_DISABLE_SUBMENUS in the configuration scripts, which would produce a flat boot list instead of the current tree-like structure when enabled. Performing a quick search on the Internet you will find several attempts to disable the use of submenus, which, as of now, can only be remedied by manually modifying the related /etc/grub.d/ scripts.
