Summary: Scripting -- Integrate busybox commands Project: GNU GRUB Submitted by: bobziuchkovski Submitted on: Sun 05 May 2013 04:28:47 AM GMT Category: Booting Severity: Major Priority: 5 - Normal Item Group: Feature Request Status: None Privacy: Public Assigned to: None Originator Name: Bob Ziuchkovski Originator Email: Open/Closed: Open Discussion Lock: Any Release: Release: Bazaar - trunk Reproducibility: None Planned Release: None _______________________________________________________ Details: This is a feature request to utilize busybox code to further extend the available commands in grub2. In particular, I have the 'sed' command in mind, but many of the commands would be useful additions to grub's scripting/shell support. Also relevant is [bug #38893] Scripting -- Add command output capture support. Commands such as sed would be useful with the ability to capture command output to a variable. To be honest, I have no familiarity with either the Grub2 or Busybox code bases, so I'm not sure if this is a reasonable request or not. I realize grub is not meant to be a full-featured operating system in and of itself, but the more capabilities/commands available in the grub shell, the better. _______________________________________________________ Reply to this item at: <http://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/?38894> _______________________________________________ Message sent via/by Savannah http://savannah.gnu.org/ _______________________________________________ Bug-grub mailing list Bug-grub@gnu.org https://lists.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/bug-grub
