Follow-up Comment #7, bug #41005 (project grub):

I have finally found a way to circumvent the problem: If you invoke the bios
'boot menu' (F12) when starting the vostro 3350 and simply select 'hard disk'
there, the second disk gets (auto-magically) known to grub. Hence the problem
simply disappears if you go through to boot menu!

@Vladimir: I haven't understand your remark about the 'biosdisk' variable. But
it seems that you think that installing grub with the 'native' disk module is
NOT enough. Could you please be a little more explicit about what to do in
addition?
