Follow-up Comment #1, bug #47551 (project grub):

I'm attaching a new version of the patch which supports different
GRUB_DISTRIBUTOR name for ubuntuBSD.
Also the UUID test is improved to not depend on distribution strings. Instead
it checks for /etc/init.d/checkroot.sh which is the component of initscripts
package that is affected by said conflict with UFS UUIDs.
The second part helps all Debian GNU/kFreeBSD derivatives not just ubuntuBSD.
