Summary: GRUB configuration file: include 'menu' option in timeout style caption Project: GNU GRUB Submitted by: eidurkr Submitted on: Fri 29 Jan 2021 03:39:49 AM UTC Category: Configuration Severity: Major Priority: 5 - Normal Item Group: Documentation Status: None Privacy: Public Assigned to: None Originator Name: Originator Email: Open/Closed: Open Release: Release: 2.02 Discussion Lock: Any Reproducibility: None Planned Release: None _______________________________________________________ Details: The default/grub configuration file includes the following lines: # Set to 'countdown' or 'hidden' to change timeout behavior, # press ESC key to display menu. GRUB_TIMEOUT_STYLE=menu If a user changes the value, and then decides to change it back later on, the name of the original option is lost. The first line should therefore include the default option, such as: # Set to 'menu', 'countdown', or 'hidden' to change timeout behavior, # press ESC key to display menu. GRUB_TIMEOUT_STYLE=menu _______________________________________________________ Reply to this item at: <https://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/?59965> _______________________________________________ Message sent via Savannah https://savannah.gnu.org/
