System: Ubuntu 24.04 LTS with 6.8.0-31-generic kernel
Grub2 package version: 2.12-1ubuntu7
Various hardware: ASUS Nuc12WSKi3, Intel NUC12WSHi5, Intel NUC13ANKi5, Intel
NUC7

The systems boots normally showing the countdown; if I disconnect and connect
the display during the countdown, the system freezes at the countdown, doesn't
boot and I have to turn off and on to recover the system.

I verified the problem on different hardware: the BIOS is configured to use
EFI boot with secureboot enabled.

- ASUS Nuc12Pro (model: Nuc12WSKi3): the system freezes at boot countdown,
after reconnecting the display I see the grub interface on the display

- Intel NUC13ANKi5/Intel NUC12WSHi5: the system freezes at boot, after
reconnecting the display it remains black

- Intel NUC7DNK2E: the system boots correctly, after reconnecting the display
I see the grub interface on the display and the countdown continues until the
system is booted

I tried to update the bios with the latest version and nothing changed; the
same freeze happen with or without secureboot enabled.

Attached files:
- /etc/default/grug
- /boot/grub/grub.cfg

If there's any other test to do, I'm a skilled C/C++ developer and I can build
grub2 with additional debug info.

Thanks
