Just to muddy the waters a bit more, on Windows I'm getting the same
failures with gsl-2.0 and gsl-2.1, but only with 32-bit gcc-4.8.2.
With 64-bit gcc-4.8.2, 32-bit gcc-4.9.2 and 64-bit gcc-4.9.2 there's no such
issue.
This suggests to me that there might be a gcc bug at play here.
(Sorry Patrick - I don't usually use gcc-4.8.2 and didn't discover this
problem until a few hours ago.)
