Meanwhile, I have submitted a patch that fixes the fenics-dolfin build. Dolfin is the main library in the fenics package. The problem turned out to be an hdf5-related issue too; the API has changed in the move from 1.10 to 1.14. The patch is bug #78878. There is one more build to fix; the fenics package itself. This package provides the high-level python interface. In this case, it is a numpy update that is causing one of the tests to fail. Best regards, Paul.
