That's quite true... Maybe we should do another round sometime - or just add any idea to it which comes up here during the next weeks/months/years, so we have a repository of ideas people might be able to realize with the Hurd. I think to make it *the* GNU system we'd need it in a state where I can just start any desktop on it and work with it just like in a GNU/Linux, because else people would just shrug and say "This is GNU then, I think I'll stick with GNU/Linux". It doesn't necessarily need to offer the same speed, but it needs to be at least feature-equal.
