So, first a question: I downloaded and am using Thibault's Hurd image. I downloaded the build dependancies, cloned the hurd repo, compiled it, and did "make install" (for the life of me I don't know why I thought that that was a good idea). Everything seems to have gone well, but I can't boot. My guess is that the upstream Hurd still can't mount a filesystem larger than 2 GiB. Am I correct, and if so why? My second question: it appears that there are no GSoC students working on porting the Hurd over to pthreads. If one wanted to toy with doing so, how would you advise them to begin such work?
