   Inetutils'  ifconfig does something similar, and since it was not
   rejected, I don't agree with you.

ifconfig does not do something similar, system/*.c is for output
generation and argument parsing; this cannot be tested using features.
Depending on which operating system you use, ifconfig will print
things differently, on solaris it will print differnet output than on
GNU/Linux or HUPX.
