I am not talking about operating systems. What I am talking about
are *kernels*, and these bear exactly the names I attributed to
them. 

The headers you mention are kernel-specific, not libc-specific.

Not at all. They are independent. See above. For instance, I have
several boxes that use Linux as a kernel but not glibc. There are
plenty of libc implementations around that can be used instead. But that
is irrelevant anyway.
