I very much doubt this information, since "nicname" is the well-known alias for "whois". Do you care to name which system you are working with, as well as the issue/source of your referenced services file? The proposed patch is not acceptable as is, since "whois" defacto is the correct service name. The patch I have intention to craft uses "nicname" as a fallback port, nothing more.
