I looked at the archives (I am not subscribed to bug-gnulib), but did not see anything specific to the syslogd (and most likely talkd) problem reported by Valentin. E.g., the message <https://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/bug-gnulib/2025-02/msg00142.html> shows a wrong TTY for an SSH session (the "sshd " is not part of the TTY device file), but I did not see anything addressing it. The discussions seemed to concentrate on "who" which does not attempt to send messages to the TTYs of logged in users. The Gnulib changes for readutmp.c from February 2025 could help to avoid at least some errors when syslogd attempts to message a user, but I do not know this. Cheers, Erik
