You have clearly found a bug. The problem is that the figured bass is processed by an extra function in scm/bass-figure.scm that determines the typesetting and overrides the settings of BassFigure #'font-family. I guess the bug was actually introduced in version 1.19 of that file (which happened somewhere between 2.0.0 and 2.2.0).
