Easy to check! On http://lilypond.org/doc/v2.2/Documentation/user/out-www/lilypond-internals/Fingering.html you can see that it, indeed, uses the same number font as for example the numbering of alternative repeat endings, multimeasure rest counts and time signatures. If this counts as the "correct" font or not, I leave to other to judge.
