It's true that the behaviour of extender lines seems to have changed,
compare the first example of these links:

http://lilypond.org/doc/v2.12/Documentation/user/lilypond/Aligning-lyrics-to-a-melody#Multiple-notes-to-one-syllable

http://lilypond.org/doc/v2.13/Documentation/user/lilypond/Aligning-lyrics-to-a-melody#Multiple-notes-to-one-syllable

[Here I only changed the '2.12' to '2.13' on the URL]

BTW the example is wrong because the extender line is supposed to go
only on the last syllable of a word. Anyway, these three cases show
that the extender now stops unexpectedly at the last slurred note.

<<
\relative c' { c( d e) f g  } \addlyrics  { Do __ _  Do }
\relative c' { c d( e) f g  } \addlyrics  { Do __ _ _  Do }
\relative c' { c d( e f) g  } \addlyrics  { Do __ _  Do }
 >>

If the previous behaviour was to continue extending the line over a
slurred group, I'd prefer this because it allows to put slurs freely
without worrying about the extender.
