Well, I haven't heard back from Bernard regarding this issue, but...

Hopefully the font issues Bernard was experiencing have disappeared,
because Han-Wen pushed a series of commits a while back that did away
with the feta-alphabet Type-1 font issue.  For Emmentaler and
Emmentaler-Brace (the music fonts), only the OTF and SVG fonts are
used now.
