It's not clear to me whether this is a code enhancement with a bit of docs, or a doc-only change.
Once this gets onto Reitveld, I'll comment on any doc stuff. At the moment, there's no way for lily-git.tcl users to upload to Reitveld, so I guess we have to rely on a random developer helping to shepherd this patch across there.
