These are not inconsistent. Remember we are moving an extended object with respect to a fixed point. So "left-aligned" means the object's left edge is aligned to the reference point, i.e. it is moved to the right of the reference. > I think that the latter is right and we should rephrase a sentence this way: No, the whole paragraph looks correct to me, but I remember agonising over it when I wrote it. It's easier to understand when you put the emphasis on "self", so the alignments refer to the left and right ends of the _object_, not the field it's moving in. If it helps have a look at the slightly different wording in the Notation Reference, where there is an example: http://www.lilypond.org/doc/v2.17/Documentation/notation/aligning-objects So not a bug. > Federico Trevor _______________________________________________ bug-lilypond mailing list bug-lilypond@gnu.org https://lists.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/bug-lilypond _______________________________________________ bug-lilypond mailing list bug-lilypond@gnu.org https://lists.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/bug-lilypond
