Hi Trevor,

I would expect this behaviour. d1*3/4\rest does not say: put the rest on
the second line from the top, but put it on the position of the note d.

It could also be helpful: if you used \rest because you want to avoid a
collision with a note in the same staff, then the shift should be the
same in a transposition. (I know that using voices would be better in
most cases.)
